CAP Supports Community-Based Waste Management Industry

On 12 September 2019, PT Chandra Asri Petrochemical Tbk (CAP) inaugurates waste recycling facility, known as Zero Waste Management Industry (IPS Masaro for short) in Cilegon. IPS Masaro is concept to encourage the community to change the old conventional way of waste disposal, collect-transport-throwaway to segregate-transport-process, where all waste collected is processed leaving zero waste. Organic waste will be processed into liquid fertilizer and mulch, meanwhile the non-organic waste will processed into fuel and waste with no economic value will go into an incinerator, where plastic waste is processed into fuel in high temperature, and into pyrolysis machine which also produces fuel to operate machine in IPS Masaro.

This facility was built by a solid partnership among Indonesia Olefin, Aromatic and Plastic Industry Association (INAPLAS), Institut Teknik Bandung (ITB), the regional government and the local communities in implementing Masaro. Among the three pyrolysis machines in IPS Masaro, one gas-fueled machine is a modification by an 11th grade volunteer named John Leiman from Jakarta Intercultural School. CAP welcomes and appreciates John’s enthusiasm and contribution, through his work with the smaller scale pyrolysis machine in IPS Masaro.

IPS Masaro will process household waste from approximately 1000 families, with waste segregation conducted by the members of families at home.  Separated waste will be exchanged with incentives of daily household products obtained at the Masaro facility regularly.

Tackling garbage problems can be started with simple initiatives ranging from disposing trash properly, sorting out the trash, up to implementing the reuse and recycle concepts. Concern with garbage problems, Chandra Asri encourages employees to participate in World Clean Up Day 2018 which falls under 15 September 2018. Not only becoming part of world’s largest clean-up movement that involve 350 million volunteers in 150 countries, Chandra Asri perceives World Clean Up Day 2018 as an opportunity to emphasize the importance of trash-sorting to people. Chandra Asri is also delighted to be part of 13 million Indonesian World Clean Up Day 2018 volunteers.

Extraordinary General Meeting of Shareholders 2018

In 10 September 2018, PT Chandra Asri Petrochemical Tbk, held Extraordinary General Meeting of Shareholders (EGMS) with agenda of change in company's structure. The meeting was attended by board of commissioner and directors in Wisma Barito Pacific, Jakarta. Throughout the meeting, shareholders approved the changes in the composition of the Directors and Commissioners as previously proposed by SCG Chemicals Company Limited which represented 30.57% of the company's shares. Some agreed agendas were also the resignation letter of Mr. Piboon Sirinantanakul from his position as Director of the Company, appointment of Mr. Somkoun Sriwattagaphong as new Production Director/Manufacturing Director, resignation letter of Mr. Chaovalit Ekabut from his position as Commissioner of the Company, and appointment of Mr. Thammasak Sethaudom as Commissioner Company.

Chandra Asri Dispatches Humanitarian Aid for Lombok Earthquake Survivors

8 August 2018, Chandra Asri through its Corporate Social Responsibility program, dispatches humanitarian aid to Lombok earthquake survivors. The humanitarian aid are stored in Halim Perdana Kusuma Airport under Posko Bencana Gempa Lombok, the organizing committee for humanitarian aid, initiated by Indonesia National Arm Forces. Chandra Asri sends 300 blanket, 336 boxes of baby food and 960 pcs of diapers. These aids are expected able to lift the burden of the survivors who currently are on refuge. With deepest sympathy, our thoughts and prayers are with Lombok.

Through this award, CAP’s learning and development system is believed to have integrate the ideal development methodology and implement the Learning Value Chain. This announcement is featured in SWA Magazine No. 11, 25 May – 5 June edition. CAP scored “good” in overall assessment, yet stand out for learning need analysis, learning design and learning delivery with “very good” score. This award certainly gives encouragement to CAP to make more achievement (continuous improvement principle) and to keep increasing our human resources’ capacities.
